Streetwise Environmental is contracted to manage the Rushcliffe Borough Council’s grounds maintenance (grass cutting, shrub pruning, hedge cutting and herbicide applications) including all sports and recreational areas, and arboricultural services and fly tipping for all the parks, playing fields and amenity areas.

We maintain 800km of road and provide a 24 hour collection service for fly tips, disposing of around 300 tonnes of rubbish per year. Streetwise Environmental Ltd maintains the grounds of Rushcliffe Country Park which was awarded the Green Flag Award for the last 5 years. The work is carried out to an exceptionally high standard by skilled, trained and competent individuals with access to a wide variety of tools and vehicles. All of our operatives are subject to daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks which are signed off by their line manager to ensure they are fully complaint with the health and safety legislation.

We provide full investigation with photographic evidence of every fly tip, passing it on to the relevant departments in order to pursue prosecutions of those who are responsible for illegal fly-tipping.

We carry out an onsite Risk Assessment to ensure safety of our operatives and members of the public at all times. All works procedures incorporate safe systems of working and form part of the internal quality control. These include the Arboricultural & Forestry Advisory Group (AFAG) guidelines published by the HSE and the Guide to Good Climbing Practice and Guide to use of MEWPS in Arboriculture published by the Arboricultural Association. We have qualified staff with NPTC qualifications working on the contract. We also receive regular updates and instructions from manufacturers of weed killers, herbicides and pesticides ensuring we are always operating to the latest safety information.

Councillor Debbie Mason, Portfolio Holder for Community & Leisure said, “Streetwise have been servicing the Borough of Rushcliffe since 2014 to keep the streets and areas we live in clean and tidy. They carry out street sweeping, fly tip and litter removal, and look after our parks and recreational areas. We have found them to be responsive to any issues which arise and they ensure that matters are dealt with promptly. We have been pleased with their service and also value their support on social projects and schemes which support the local community”.
